Paris Inaugurates Tallest Skyscraper
The French capital has unveiled its tallest skyscraper in the La Defense business district. At 231 meters high, the Tour First is just 21 meters taller than the city's previous tallest office building; Tour de Montparnasse. Tour First still comes in shorter than the city's tallest and most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower.
TFP Farrells' Kingkey 100 in Shenzhen Tops Out
China's newest landmark tower, the TFP Farrells' designed Kingkey Finance Tower, known as the Kingkey 100, has topped out at a special ceremony to mark the occasion. When completed, the 442-meter, 100-story tower will be one of the ten tallest buildings in the world.
Pittsburgh Plans "World's Greenest Skyscraper"
The PNC Financial Services Group Inc. has announced that it plans to construct what it says will be the world's most environmentally friendly skyscraper. The Tower at PNC Plaza will be a roughly 40-story building and about 800,000 square feet. The skyscraper would be PNC's largest Pittsburgh building.
Heller Manus' New Design Projects in Shanghai and Guangzhou
Having won the Shanghai Yangpu Waterfront urban design competition in 2010, Heller Manus has now been awarded the architectural design contract for a project located on the Yangpu waterfront in Shanghai. They have also been leading the design of the International Fashion Center in Guangzhou.
Ninety-story Building Planned for Brisbane's Vision Tower Site
The site of the failed Vision Tower in the Brisbane CBD has been earmarked for what is being touted as Brisbane's tallest building. The property new owners have lodged a development application for a 297-meter tall development proposing two towers for the site. The project will be known as 111+222.
World Trade Center Progress Report
After 9/11, it took nearly a decade to locate and kill Osama bin Laden, perhaps giving the nation some sense of closure. It will take much longer than that to heal the gaping wound in the Lower Manhattan cityscape. But after spending much time on cleanup and foundation work, progress is ever more visible.

Skyscraper Archive Donated by Norman Ramsey
A fantastic collection of thousands of books, articles and postcards documenting decades of tall building history has been donated to the Council by Norman Ramsey.
CTBUH Website Developer Job Position
Council staff numbers continue to grow and a Website Developer is now sought to lead the next stage of development of the Council's websites including the global Tall Buildings Database.
Prof. Wada New President of Architectural Institute of Japan
Dr. Akira Wada, the chair of the CTBUH Japan Chapter, was elected as the new president of the AIJ for a two year term beginning June 1st.
Shanghai & Beijing Trip Report
CTBUH Leaders recently traveled to China to attend a CTBUH-Tongji University workshop, and begin the planning of the anticipated 9th World Congress Shanghai 2012.
Record Number of 2011 Award Submissions
A record-breaking number of tall building submissions have been received for the Awards program, with the jury now deliberating, look for winners to be announced by mid-June.
