London Conference Kicks Off June 11
Delegates are flocking to London for the highly anticipated CTBUH International Conference. On-site registration is available. New participants can register on-site at the event itself.
Regional Events Planned in Asia
Chapter activity ramps up in Bangkok and Jakarta as CTBUH fulfills its mission of greater outreach in Southeast Asia. Representatives of the next tallest buildings in each city will present.

One World Trade Center Tops Out
The final crowning piece has been attached to the roof of One World Trade Center in New York, bringing to a symbolic close a decade-plus process of politics, healing, design and construction, after the destruction of the original World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Crown Hotel Sydney Announces Design Winner
Wilkinson Eyre Architects has won the bid to design the new Crown Hotel in Sydney as part of a larger AU$6 billion Barangaroo Redevelopment Master Plan. The design finds its roots in an abstraction of three stems growing out of the ground and twisting as they reach the top of the structure.
Emaar Mogul Hints Again at New Supertall
The Chairman of Emaar Properties, Mohamed Alabbar, continues to vaguely reference his next skyscraper project, which is supposed to be the world's next tallest building. The Chairman most recently hinted that the supertall may be located in Dubai, near his previous accomplishment, the Burj Khalifa.
Developer Plans Tallest Building in Singapore
Singapore-based developer GuocoLand is planning to build Singapore's tallest building as part of the Tanjong Pagar Centre development. The SOM-designed Guoco Tower will be 290 meters when it is completed in 2016 and will contain 38 stories of office space and nearly 200 residential units.
Shard Secures First Office Tenant
Financial advisory and investment banking firm Duff & Phelps has signed a contract to lease about 20,000 square feet (1,806 square meters) of office space in the Shard. The firm joins the unopened Shangri-La hotel and the View from the Shard observation deck as the tower's only tenants.
Video: China Broad J220 Animation
Broad Sustainable Building has released an animation of its much anticipated Sky City skyscraper in Changsha, which, if completed, would be the world’s tallest building. The short film illustrates the prefabricated process that would be used in its construction.

The Skyscraper Center, the CTBUH’s primary tall-buildings database, has added new and improved features, including information on helipad heights and energy labels.
CTBUH Awards Jury Deliberates in June
The CTBUH has received more than 60 outstanding submittals, including a record number of Innovation Award entries. The results will be announced on July 1.
